Miss eXceL PLUS is a reality show organized by XL Productions and GTV. The show seeks to inculcate the habit of a sustainable healthy living habit in plus size ladies. This is done through a structural weight management program placing emphasis on good nutrition, exercise and rest.
The ladies are also groomed to have high self esteem as well as platform to exhibit their talents. The 4th season will be launched on Saturday October 6, 2013 at a plush house donated by K.A. Estates.
This year, 16 plus size ladies have been selected to compete for that enviable crown and the chosen queen will send a positive signal to those that believe that the plus is timid and cannot compete with her size in this contemporary world.
According to the Public Relations Officer of the company, Ami Amewode, since XL Productions believes in sustainability, the winner takes home a piece of land. She stressed that people did not understand why a land was given as their first prize and explained that, it is among the commodities that appreciates with time and was not surprised other pageants are following suit.
She was however grateful to their sponsors for honouring their corporate social responsibility through their sponsorship and called on other stakeholders and well meaning Ghanaians to come on board so that obesity, the root cause of heart diseases, stroke, hypertension and other diseases associated with the plus is flushed out.
The show she said will be aired on GTV which is the pulse of the nation soon.
Sponsors are LAV Famine Wash, YAAKSON Herbal Center, K.A Estates, Sure Testimony Estates, Blessed Furniture Supply, YAZZ, Juben House of Beauty, Golden Egg Hotel, VITS Instant Noodles, KoKo King, EDEN, MAD DOG Energy Drink, Everything Braid, ENGEN Petroleum, Black pool Multi Media/Diallo Photos. The rest are GROSSA Designs, TF Collections and ASBON Designs.
